Ekiti Driver Borrows ₦3.5m to Campaign for Tinubu, Two Other Politicians

An Ado-Ekiti-based mini-truck driver, Adeleye Adeniyi, has revealed that he borrowed ₦3.5 million to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.

Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO,” made the disclosure in a video interview circulating on Friday, October 9, 2026.

During the interview, he displayed a cardboard cheque bearing the amounts he pledged to the three politicians: ₦2 million for Tinubu, ₦1 million for Bamidele and ₦500,000 for Fatoba.

The driver said his decision to borrow the money was motivated by his belief in the performance of the politicians and his desire to support their re-election bids.

“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” Adeniyi said.

He also pledged to campaign actively for the President ahead of the forthcoming elections, urging Nigerians to support Tinubu's bid for a second term.

Adeniyi expressed confidence that another term for the President would bring additional benefits to Nigerians.

He equally commended Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure development in the state.

Praising Bamidele's efforts, the driver said the senator's support for development projects had encouraged him to believe in his leadership.

Adeniyi previously attracted public attention in February 2026 after reportedly obtaining a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji's second-term ambition.

At the time, he said his decision was driven by his admiration for the governor's administration and its policies on education, healthcare and citizens' welfare.

In his latest appearance, Adeniyi reiterated his commitment to supporting the politicians, disclosing that he had once again taken out a loan to demonstrate his political loyalty.

The development has drawn attention to the lengths some supporters are willing to go to demonstrate their commitment to political candidates ahead of future elections.
