World's Tallest Buildings in 2026 Revealed

The latest global ranking of the world's tallest completed skyscrapers has been released, showcasing remarkable achievements in modern engineering and architecture.

According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), the rankings are based on architectural height, including spires but excluding antennas.

Top 10 Tallest Buildings in the World (2026):

1. Burj Khalifa – Dubai, UAE – 828 metres (2,717 ft)

2. Merdeka 118 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 679 metres (2,227 ft)

3. Shanghai Tower – Shanghai, China – 632 metres (2,073 ft)

4. Makkah Royal Clock Tower – Makkah, Saudi Arabia – 601 metres (1,972 ft)

5. Ping An Finance Center – Shenzhen, China – 599 metres (1,965 ft)

6. Lotte World Tower – Seoul, South Korea – 555 metres (1,819 ft)

7. One World Trade Center – New York City, USA – 541 metres (1,776 ft)

8. Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre – Guangzhou, China – 530 metres (1,739 ft)

9. Tianjin CTF Finance Centre – Tianjin, China – 530 metres (1,739 ft)

10. CITIC Tower (China Zun) – Beijing, China – 528 metres (1,732 ft)

Burj Khalifa has retained its position as the world's tallest completed building for more than 15 years. Merdeka 118 is the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia, while Shanghai Tower remains the tallest twisting skyscraper in the world.

Other notable landmarks on the list include Taipei 101, Central Park Tower, Lakhta Center, Landmark 81, The Exchange 106, and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

Despite ongoing construction, Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower has not been completed as of 2026 and is therefore not included in the rankings.

China dominates the list with the highest number of skyscrapers among the world's top 20 tallest completed buildings, highlighting the country's continued leadership in high-rise construction.
