The death toll from a school shooting in Thailand has risen to nine after a 12-year-old girl who was injured in Friday’s attack died on Saturday, police said.
Police at Plai Bang Police Station in Nonthaburi Province confirmed the girl’s death, adding to the casualties from the deadly incident at Debsirin Nonthaburi School.
According to police, a 14-year-old boy allegedly shot his grandparents before going to the school, where he killed five other people. He later turned the gun on himself.
The latest death has increased the number of victims in the shooting, which has shocked the local community and drawn renewed attention to gun violence in Thailand.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
