ADC Criticises Tinubu’s Decision to Send Gbajabiamila Ahead of Governors.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to lead a delegation of elected state governors on an official mission to Canada.

ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the arrangement as inappropriate, arguing that an unelected presidential aide should not lead elected governors on an international assignment.

President Tinubu had approved a Federal Government delegation led by Gbajabiamila to represent Nigeria at the maiden Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada.

The delegation includes Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, alongside several ministers and other officials.

Reacting to the decision in a post on X, Abdullahi questioned why the President’s Chief of Staff, whom he described as an unelected personal aide, should lead elected governors on a foreign mission.

He said the development was another example of what he described as the controversial decisions of the Tinubu administration.

“How can the President’s Chief of Staff, an unelected personal aide of the president, lead elected state governors on a foreign mission?” Abdullahi asked.
