Tecno has announced that its new Camon 50 Ultra 5G will officially launch in India on July 17, as the smartphone maker seeks to strengthen its position in the country's competitive mid-range market.
The device will be available through Amazon India immediately after the launch event. Although the official price has not yet been revealed, industry analysts expect it to cost between ₹18,000 and ₹23,000, making it a strong contender in the sub-₹35,000 segment.
One of the Camon 50 Ultra's biggest highlights is its DxOMark camera score of 146, making it the highest-rated smartphone camera among devices priced below $600. The phone features a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset and comes with a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display featuring 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. It offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Other key features include a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810 durability certification, NFC, and Android 16 with HiOS 16. Tecno has also promised three years of major Android OS updates.
The Camon 50 Ultra is expected to compete with popular mid-range smartphones from Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and Nothing. Tecno hopes its camera performance and premium features will help the company expand beyond the budget smartphone segment in India.
