Tinubu Congratulates Winners of Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, Delta By-Elections.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s legislative by-elections held across five constituencies in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.

The All Progressives Congress won four of the five seats, while the Allied Peoples Movement secured one seat. The elections comprised one federal constituency and four State House of Assembly constituencies.

The APC candidates who emerged victorious were Kallamu MaiJama’a, who won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Husseini Datti, who won the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State; Okolosi Ator, who won the Udu State Constituency in Delta State; and Yakubu Ali, who won the Disina State Constituency in Bauchi State.

Adamu Yakubu of the APM won the Sakwa State Constituency seat in Bauchi State.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said the victories recorded by APC candidates reflected the confidence Nigerians at the grassroots had placed in the party.

The President also urged the winners to justify the confidence of their constituents through diligent and effective representation.

He called on the other candidates to accept the results in good faith and continue to contribute to the democratic process.

Tinubu commended voters and security agencies for maintaining peace and order during the elections. He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting the polls.

The President urged INEC to build on the lessons from the by-elections and address identified shortcomings ahead of future elections, particularly the 2027 general elections.
