Troops Foil Ransom Exchange, Rescue Kidnapped Woman in Kebbi

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued a kidnapped woman and disrupted a planned ransom exchange in Kebbi State.

The operation followed credible intelligence about a ransom payment for the woman, who was abducted from her farm last month. As troops moved in to intercept the exchange, the terrorists attempted to engage them but were overpowered by the soldiers’ superior firepower.

The attackers fled, abandoning the hostage, who was found unharmed and safely rescued.

According to the acting spokesperson for the operation, Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the victim was later transported to safety and reunited with her family in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Troops also carried out clearance and dominance patrols in Ngaski Local Government Area as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and prevent criminal activities.

Osoba said Operation FANSAN YAMMA would continue its operations against terrorists and bandits in Kebbi State and across Nigeria. He also urged residents to provide security agencies with useful information that could help prevent criminal activities.
