Soldiers Repel Bandits’ Attack in Kebbi

Troops of the Nigerian Army have repelled an attack by suspected bandits on construction workers at Tsatsunbe village in Southern Kebbi State, rescuing the workers and recovering three motorcycles abandoned by the attackers.

The incident occurred on Friday, August 14, following a tip-off about an attack on the construction workers.

The spokesman for the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, disclosed the development on Saturday.

According to Osoba, the troops responded swiftly to the distress call and engaged the attackers with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat from the area in disarray.

He said the troops subsequently conducted an operation in the area and recovered three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing attackers.

The construction workers had reportedly taken refuge in the bushes during the attack. The soldiers later rescued them safely and escorted them back to their camp.

The Army said the operation was carried out under Operation Clean Sweep IV, as troops continue efforts to protect communities, workers and critical infrastructure from criminal attacks in the region.
