The Bauchi State Police Command has commenced a full investigation into the alleged killing of a 20-year-old man, Abdullahi Adamu, reportedly involving police officers attached to a police outpost under the Misau Divisional Headquarters.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Habib, the command became aware of reports circulating on social media claiming that the victim was assaulted while being questioned over an ongoing investigation.
Adamu, a resident of Sebore Village in Hardawa District, was initially taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Misau before being transferred to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi. He later died on Sunday, July 12, 2026, while receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed concern over the incident and ordered a comprehensive investigation to establish the facts surrounding the case.
The police assured the public that anyone found responsible would face appropriate disciplinary and legal action in accordance with the law. The command also extended its condolences to the deceased's family and urged members of the public with relevant information to assist the ongoing investigation.
