Iran Halts Military Operations After Warning Israel Against Further Escalation

Iran has announced the suspension of its latest military operations against Israel, saying its armed forces have delivered what officials described as a significant response to recent developments in Lebanon and warning that any further escalation could trigger renewed action.

In a statement released on Monday, the headquarters of Iran's military command said operations had been halted following a series of strikes targeting Israeli military facilities. Iranian authorities said the actions were carried out in response to Israeli military activities in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs.

According to Iranian officials, missile strikes were launched against several Israeli military sites, including air bases that Tehran claims were involved in operations linked to Lebanon. The strikes followed renewed tensions after reported Israeli attacks on locations inside Iran and Lebanon.

The military command said the suspension of operations should not be interpreted as a reduction in readiness, stressing that Iran's armed forces remain prepared to respond if hostilities continue.

Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesman for the military headquarters, said Iranian forces had demonstrated both defensive and offensive capabilities during the operation. He warned that any future attacks against Iran or its regional allies would prompt a stronger response.

Iran also accused the United States of supporting Israeli actions in the region and said Washington shares responsibility for the recent escalation. Tehran reiterated its position that regional stability depends on an end to military operations in Lebanon and respect for existing ceasefire arrangements.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, where cross-border exchanges and military operations have raised concerns about a broader regional conflict.

While Iran says it has suspended its current operations, officials indicated that the situation remains under close monitoring and that future actions will depend on developments on the ground.

The latest exchange marks another chapter in the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel, with both sides trading accusations over security threats and regional instability.
