Samsung's flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces several upgrades aimed at improving selfie photography, including a wider front-facing camera and enhanced AI image processing.
The device features a new 23mm selfie lens that captures more people and background in each shot while minimizing distortion. Samsung has also integrated real-time AI processing into the camera system, allowing the phone to optimize skin tones, hair, eyes, and facial details as photos are taken.
Users can choose between Natural and Warm color profiles, while additional tools such as palm gestures, voice commands, and timer-based multi-shot selfies make capturing photos more convenient. Samsung recommends using the Camera Assistant app to fine-tune image sharpness and reduce excessive smoothing.
Beyond photography, the Galaxy S26 Ultra includes advanced AI editing tools that can remove unwanted background objects, apply creative photo styles, and make significant image alterations through text prompts. Users can request edits such as changing clothing, transforming daytime scenes into nighttime settings, or modifying backgrounds, with the AI automatically adjusting lighting and shadows for realistic results.
Samsung says the combination of improved camera hardware and AI-powered software is designed to deliver more natural-looking selfies and greater creative flexibility for users.
