Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has cautioned the United States and Israel against any renewed military confrontation with Iran, stating that previous attempts to pressure Tehran through force had already failed and would fail again.
Speaking on the sidelines of a BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, Araghchi said Iran was “accustomed to threats” and insisted that neither military action nor intimidation had achieved meaningful results against the country in the past.
He reiterated Iran’s position that disputes involving Iran cannot be resolved militarily, arguing that external pressure would only strengthen Iranian resistance rather than weaken it. According to him, recent regional conflicts had demonstrated Iran’s ability to withstand sustained military pressure and maintain its strategic position.
Araghchi also said that Iran’s regional standing had grown following recent confrontations, claiming that many countries now view Iran as a more influential power in West Asia. He described the situation as a turning point that has reshaped regional perceptions of security and power balance.
Addressing regional relations, he criticized the United Arab Emirates over its alleged alignment with US military activities during recent tensions, warning that cooperation with foreign military forces could undermine regional stability. He added that Iran prefers cooperation with neighboring states rather than confrontation.
He further warned both the United States and Israel that any future military escalation would not produce different outcomes from past conflicts, urging a shift away from “threat-based” diplomacy toward negotiation and dialogue.
