The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bauchi State Council, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the continued detention of its National Leader, Bello Bodejo.
The association urged the President to facilitate Bodejo’s release or ensure that due process is followed if there are lawful grounds for his continued detention.
The Bauchi State Chairman of the association, Sale Garbu, made the appeal during a press conference in Bauchi, expressing concern over what he described as Bodejo’s prolonged detention without being brought before a court.
Garbu said the situation had raised concerns among members of the organisation, prompting them to seek the intervention of the President.
He appealed to Tinubu to use his office to address the matter and ensure that justice was served.
The chairman maintained that Bodejo had contributed to promoting peace and security in Nigeria, particularly through efforts to address challenges affecting communities.
Garbu also called on Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, to intervene and support efforts to secure Bodejo’s release in good health.
He further stated that the association would not support any candidate from any political party until its national leader was released.
According to him, the decision reflects the organisation’s concern over Bodejo’s continued detention and its determination to see the matter resolved.
Earlier, the association’s State Secretary, Sulaiman Shehu, appealed to traditional rulers across the country to use their positions and influence to intervene.
Shehu urged traditional institutions to engage the relevant authorities and contribute to finding a peaceful and lawful resolution to the matter.
The association also called on government officials, community leaders and other stakeholders to give the issue urgent attention in the interest of peace, justice and the well-being of Bodejo’s family.
