Jigawa Students Finally Access NECO Results After Payment Glitch

Jigawa Students Finally Access NECO Results After Payment Glitch

The Jigawa State Government has resolved the delay in the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) results for students in public schools across the state, blaming the setback on a bank transaction glitch.

The Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Chamo, explained that funds deposited by the state government to NECO for the examination fees had bounced back due to a banking transaction problem.

The 2026 NECO results were officially released on September 24, 2026, by the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi. However, students in public schools in Jigawa were unable to access their results several days after the national release.

The delay caused concern among students, parents and guardians in areas including Dutse, Hadejia and Gumel, particularly as students from private schools had already accessed their results.

Prof. Chamo said the government immediately took steps to rectify the failed transaction and reprocessed the payment.

According to him, NECO subsequently confirmed receipt of the payment, and the issue was resolved.

He assured that all public-school students in Jigawa would be able to access their results on the NECO portal from Tuesday evening.

> “The delay is not intentional. The funds we deposited to NECO bounced back due to bank transaction issues,” the commissioner said.

He added that the state government had paid all required fees and assured students and their parents that no student would be left behind.

The commissioner urged parents, guardians and students to remain calm, noting that the state government remained committed to supporting education in Jigawa.
