Two Students Killed as Gunman Opens Fire at Philippines High School

At least two people have been killed after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, according to local officials.

Zamboanga City Mayor Khymer Adan Olaso said the two victims were students and that the suspected gunman was among those killed.

Regional police spokesperson Shellamie Chang said officers were securing the school campus while investigations continued.

Witnesses identified the school as Ateneo de Zamboanga High School. Journalists at the scene reported that the suspect was reportedly a Grade 7 student who opened fire inside a classroom.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and secure the school premises.
