Tinubu Walks to Office From Home, NRS Chairman Says

The Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, has said President Bola Tinubu often walks from his residence to his office, insisting that the President’s administration is committed to reducing the cost of governance.

Adedeji made the remarks during an appearance on Sunday Politics, where he discussed Nigeria’s economy, taxation system and the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms.

According to him, Tinubu does not regularly use a convoy or drive to work, except when travelling to the airport.

«“Mr President goes from home to office on foot, not even driving except when he is going to the airport. I don’t know where you see the convoy,” Adedeji said.»

The NRS chairman also praised Tinubu for removing the fuel subsidy, describing the decision as one of the best things to have happened to Nigeria.

He said the President’s economic reforms have contributed to efforts to reposition the country and build a stronger economy.

Adedeji further defended the government’s tax reforms, stressing that the NRS is focused on taxing prosperity rather than placing unnecessary burdens on poor Nigerians.

He maintained that the reforms are designed to improve Nigeria’s revenue system while supporting economic growth and development.
