Kano Governor Urges 1,500 Newlywed Couples to Build Marriages on Justice, Patience

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has urged 1,500 couples who benefited from the state’s mass wedding programme to build their marriages on patience, justice, mutual respect and understanding.

The governor made the call while addressing the newly married couples, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf reminded the couples that marriage is an act of worship and encouraged them to conduct their marital affairs in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He urged the newlyweds to respect one another, promote fairness and justice in their homes, and work together to maintain peace and understanding.

The governor also advised the couples to apply the lessons they received during their pre-marital counselling sessions, noting that patience, understanding and mutual respect were essential to maintaining stable and peaceful families.

Yusuf prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the marriages and asked that the couples be blessed with righteous children who would make positive contributions to their families, society and humanity.

The mass wedding programme, coordinated by the Kano State Hisbah Board, was held on Friday as part of the state government’s social intervention initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and reducing the financial burden associated with marriage.
