Seven people have been killed and seven others injured in a road accident involving a Toyota Sienna and a Mazda vehicle along the Kutigi–Bida Road in Niger State.
The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Shebe Village. According to reports, the Mazda, travelling from Minna towards Mokwa, entered a blind corner and collided with the Sienna, which was travelling from Lagos to Minna.
The Mazda had eight passengers, seven of whom died in the crash. A teenage girl, the only survivor in the vehicle, was reportedly unconscious after the accident.
Seven occupants of the Sienna sustained injuries, while four other people escaped without injuries.
The Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Aishat Saadu, confirmed that 18 people were involved in the crash, with seven fatalities, seven injuries and four people escaping unhurt.
Authorities are also trying to locate the teenage survivor’s relatives.
