Israeli forces detained seven Palestinians, including two 16-year-old children, during overnight and early morning military raids across several areas of the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian sources.
The arrests took place in Tubas, Nablus, and Bethlehem governorates, where soldiers carried out house searches and detained residents. In Asira ash Shamaliya, near Nablus, troops reportedly searched dozens of homes and converted one residence into a temporary interrogation center.
Separately, Israeli settlers were accused of carrying out several attacks against Palestinians. In the village of Beitillu, northwest of Ramallah, a Palestinian couple was reportedly assaulted while working on their farmland, leaving both with injuries that required hospital treatment.
Additional incidents were reported in Surif, near Hebron, where settlers allegedly set fire to a vehicle, damaged another, and sprayed racist graffiti on a Palestinian home. In another attack northeast of Ramallah, three Palestinian men were reportedly pepper-sprayed after settlers rammed their vehicle with an all-terrain vehicle.
Israeli authorities also ordered three Palestinian families in Beit Jala, near Bethlehem, to demolish their own homes, a practice Palestinians say is linked to Israel's restrictive building permit system.
Palestinian officials say more than 11,000 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers have been recorded across the occupied West Bank during the first half of 2026, with Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus among the hardest-hit areas.
The United Nations has repeatedly expressed concern over increasing settler violence, forced displacement, and the expansion of Israeli settlements, which it considers illegal under international law. Israel disputes aspects of this legal interpretation.
The latest incidents come amid continuing tensions and heightened security operations across the occupied West Bank.
