Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has claimed that Nigeria recorded about four million more births than the entire European Union in 2025.

Musk made the statement in a post on his social media platform, X, on Saturday, citing figures generated by his artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok.

According to the data shared by Grok, Nigeria recorded an estimated 7.8 million births in 2025, while the European Union recorded approximately 3.5 million births during the same period.

The figures indicate that Nigeria had roughly 4.3 million more births than the EU, highlighting the country's rapid population growth compared with the bloc's lower birth rate.
