Kwankwaso’s 29-Year Ally Dumps NDC, Joins APC.

Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, a long-time ally of Kwankwasiyya leader and Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned from the NDC and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdullahi announced his defection in a resignation letter addressed to the NDC chairman of Kofar Ruwa Ward in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.

The politician, who previously swore on the Qur’an to affirm that Kwankwaso did not send Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the APC earlier this year, said his decision was driven by frustration over what he described as “failed promises” within the NDC.

He said he had supported Kwankwaso for 29 years but had not benefited as expected.

> “I have been with Kwankwaso for 29 years but have only benefited from failed promises. I will go to where I will be respected more,” Abdullahi said.

He also declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid under the APC.

In his resignation letter, Abdullahi thanked the NDC for giving him the opportunity to serve but announced his immediate withdrawal from the party.
