Kano Appoints 19 New Permanent Secretaries, Redeploys 14

The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new Permanent Secretaries and the redeployment of 14 serving Permanent Secretaries across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strengthen the state's civil service.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, through a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman.

According to the statement, the appointments are part of efforts to improve the efficiency of government operations and enhance public service delivery across the state.

Shehu-Maimota said the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are expected to demonstrate professionalism, competence, and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities to support the administration's development agenda.

The government noted that the appointments followed the recent promotion of qualified Directors to the rank of Permanent Secretary as part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the machinery of government.

The redeployment takes immediate effect, while all affected officers have been directed to complete the handing-over and taking-over process on or before August 12, 2026.
