Israeli forces have carried out widespread raids across several cities, villages and refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, reportedly arresting several Palestinians amid a rise in settler attacks against Palestinians and their property.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli troops raided the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, southwest of Jericho, early Monday, leading to clashes with residents.
The forces reportedly entered the camp using several military vehicles, pursued young Palestinians in the al-Madaris area and fired stun grenades. No injuries were immediately reported.
In Nablus, Israeli special forces reportedly opened fire on a vehicle carrying several young Palestinians near the city’s municipal stadium. The forces ordered one of the occupants to surrender, while additional military vehicles entered Nablus through the Deir Sharaf checkpoint and deployed around the stadium.
Israeli special forces also reportedly arrested a young Palestinian man identified as Fateh al-Ashqar near the municipal stadium.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted raids in Jenin and deployed troops in the city center. They also stormed the towns of Ajjah, al-Fandaqumiya and Jaba, south of Jenin.
WAFA, citing Palestinian security and local sources, reported that Israeli special forces also raided Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus. The forces searched a café before reportedly arresting a man identified as Qusay al-Hashash.
The raids came a day after four Palestinians were reportedly wounded by gunfire during an attack by Israeli settlers on the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
WAFA reported that groups of Israeli settlers attacked the village under the protection of Israeli forces, damaging Palestinian vehicles and clashing with residents. The settlers also reportedly attempted to enter several homes.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its medical teams transported four people suffering from gunshot wounds to hospital.
The occupied West Bank has witnessed increased Israeli military raids, settler attacks and restrictions on Palestinian movement since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023.
Palestinians and international organizations have repeatedly raised concerns over the expansion of Israeli settlements, the establishment of settlement outposts and increasing violence against Palestinian communities in the occupied territory.
