Gaza Civil Defense Recovers 112 Bodies From Rubble of Family Homes in Sabra

Gaza's Civil Defense agency says its rescue teams have recovered the remains of 112 Palestinians from beneath the rubble of homes belonging to the al-Hasayna family in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

According to the agency, the bodies were found during an ongoing recovery operation following earlier Israeli airstrikes that destroyed several family homes. Rescue workers spent hours removing concrete debris using limited equipment, with many of the recovered remains requiring identification due to the condition in which they were found.

Civil Defense officials said the operation follows the recovery of dozens of other bodies from the same area earlier in the week, as teams continue searching neighborhoods heavily damaged during the conflict.

The agency has appealed for additional heavy machinery, fuel, and technical support, saying thousands of people are still believed to be buried beneath collapsed buildings across Gaza. Officials warned that recovery efforts could take months because of the scale of the destruction and the shortage of equipment.

The conflict has resulted in widespread devastation across the Gaza Strip, with humanitarian organizations continuing to call for increased assistance and protection of civilians.
