Amazon is on track to become one of the world’s first companies to reach a $4 trillion market valuation before 2030, according to an analysis by The Motley Fool.
The e-commerce and cloud computing giant currently has a market capitalization of around $3 trillion, while Apple is valued at approximately $4.5 trillion.
Amazon recorded $717 billion in net sales in 2025, and analysts expect that figure to reach about $1.1 trillion by 2028, representing an estimated annual growth rate of 15%.
Several factors are expected to drive Amazon’s continued expansion. Its e-commerce business still has significant room for growth, while its digital advertising operation continues to grow rapidly. Advertising revenue increased 26% year over year in the second quarter of 2026.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is another major growth engine. AWS sales jumped 37% in the second quarter, while Amazon continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. The company’s AWS backlog has reportedly reached $496 billion.
Amazon’s valuation could also support further gains. Its shares are trading at about 22 times forward earnings, a level described as relatively low compared with the company’s historical valuation.
With strong growth in e-commerce, advertising, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, analysts believe Amazon could reach or surpass a $4 trillion market capitalization before 2030.
However, the projection is not guaranteed, as Amazon’s future valuation will depend on its earnings growth, market conditions and investor expectations.
