Residents Celebrate Death of Notorious Bandit Leader Sani Yellow in Zamfara

Residents across parts of Zamfara State are celebrating after a notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Sani Yellow, was killed during a joint security operation involving the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), also known as Askarawan Zamfara, and local hunters.

Sani Yellow was reportedly killed in Anka Local Government Area during a gun battle as he attempted to resist the security team's operation.

He was widely regarded as one of the most feared bandit leaders operating in Anka, Bukkuyum, and Maru local government areas, where he was linked to numerous attacks, kidnappings, cattle rustling, and other violent crimes. Authorities also identified him as one of the key figures behind bandit activities across Nigeria's Northwest region.

The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed his death through its spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, who said security agencies remain committed to eliminating banditry and restoring peace across the state.

According to security officials, the operation marks another significant step in ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks responsible for years of violence and insecurity in Zamfara and neighbouring states.
