Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has rewarded two outstanding indigenes of the state who emerged as the overall best and second-best graduates at the 2026 Nigerian Law School graduation ceremony with ₦5 million each and pledged to sponsor their postgraduate studies abroad.
The beneficiaries, Israel Adekunle Adeniyi from Offa and Oluwatomisin Promise Daniel from Idofin Igbana in Oke Ero Local Government Area, were received by the governor at the Government House in Ilorin in recognition of their remarkable academic achievements.
Adeniyi graduated as the overall best student, while Daniel finished as the second-best graduate at the Nigerian Law School. Both earned their law degrees from the University of Ilorin before proceeding to the Law School.
Governor AbdulRazaq said the recognition was aimed at celebrating excellence and encouraging other young people to pursue academic success.
In addition to the ₦5 million cash award presented to each graduate, the governor promised to fund their master's degree programmes abroad once they secure admission into their preferred institutions.
He noted that the achievements of the two young lawyers prove that hard work, dedication, and education continue to open doors to success, despite the growing perception that formal education no longer guarantees a bright future.
The governor congratulated both graduates and wished them continued success in their legal careers, describing their accomplishments as a source of pride for Kwara State and an inspiration to other students.
