Kebbi Government Approves N10,000 Monthly Allowance for NYSC Members

The Kebbi State Government has announced a monthly allowance of N10,000 for all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.

Governor Nasir Idris made the announcement during the 2026 NYSC Management and Corps Employers' Workshop held in Birnin Kebbi. Represented by the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Nurudeen Bala-Fingilla, the governor said the allowance is aimed at easing the impact of rising living costs on corps members.

He described Kebbi as a welcoming state for corps members and urged beneficiaries to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed to their duties throughout their service year.

The governor also called on employers and other stakeholders to provide corps members with a safe, supportive, and productive working environment.

Speaking at the event, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, represented by the Acting Director of the North-West Area Office, Mrs. Eghieye Mary, urged employers to assign corps members meaningful responsibilities that match their qualifications. He also encouraged organizations to provide mentorship, professional development opportunities, and a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and exploitation.

Earlier, the Kebbi State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Bala Dabo-Kagarko, said the workshop was organized to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and improve the welfare, security, and overall service experience of corps members in the state.
