Buhari Remembered as Family, Dignitaries Hold One-Year Memorial in Abuja

Family members, close associates, political leaders and other dignitaries on Monday gathered in Abuja to commemorate the first anniversary of the death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

The memorial ceremony attracted prominent personalities from across the country, including former First Lady Aisha Buhari and former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), who joined other mourners in paying tribute to the late Nigerian leader.

Also present were governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political allies and supporters, reflecting Buhari's lasting influence on Nigeria's political landscape and the respect he earned during and after his years in public service.

The solemn event featured prayers and tributes in honour of the former president, with attendees remembering his contributions to the nation and offering condolences to his family.
