Russian Missile Strike on Cargo Ship Kills Three Crew Members in Odesa

Three crew members were killed and five others injured after a Russian attack struck a civilian cargo ship docked in Ukraine's Odesa region on Monday, according to Ukrainian officials.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, Oleksiy Kuleba, said the vessel, which was sailing under the Togolese flag, was carrying mineral fertilizers when it came under attack.

Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper confirmed that the merchant ship was moored at the time of the strike.

The latest attack adds to ongoing hostilities affecting Ukraine's Black Sea ports, where civilian and commercial vessels have increasingly faced security risks amid the war.

Ukrainian authorities condemned the strike, describing it as another attack on civilian maritime infrastructure.
There was no immediate response from Russia regarding the incident.
