At Least 21 Injured, Including 19 Firefighters, in Major New York City Blaze

At least 21 people were injured after a multi-alarm fire broke out in the Queens borough of New York City on Saturday, according to local authorities.

The injured include 19 firefighters who were rushed to nearby hospitals after battling the intense blaze. Officials said five firefighters suffered moderate to serious injuries, with one reported to be in serious condition.

The fire started at about 10:00 a.m. in a residential home near College Point Boulevard in the Flushing neighborhood before spreading to two adjacent buildings. Emergency crews responded quickly and worked for hours to bring the fire under control.

Several residents were rescued from the burning home as thick smoke engulfed the surrounding area. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, and authorities said none of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
