30 Killed, Including Eight Children, in Fresh Terror Attack on Kaduna Community

At least 30 people, including eight children, have been killed after suspected terrorists attacked Naridon village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The assailants reportedly invaded the community around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, opening fire on residents and setting homes ablaze. Several people were also injured during the attack.

The Secretary to the Village Head of Naridon, Dogon Rana, confirmed the incident, saying the death toll currently stands at 30, while four others are receiving treatment for critical injuries.

He described the attack as one of the deadliest the community has experienced, revealing that many families lost loved ones and property worth millions of naira was destroyed.

Rana said one resident lost five children in the attack, with the only surviving child now fighting for his life. He also disclosed that his own house and several shops were burned down by the attackers.

According to him, the community's poor road network delayed emergency response and prevented many residents from escaping the violence.

He appealed to the Federal Government, the Kaduna State Government, and security agencies to deploy more security personnel and construct a motorable road to improve access to the community.

Another resident, who requested anonymity, claimed that 22 members of the Rana family were among those killed. The resident also alleged that the attack lasted for about three hours without security intervention despite the presence of military formations in nearby communities.

As of the time of reporting, the Kaduna State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident, as efforts to reach the police spokesperson were unsuccessful.
