2026 UTME Top Scorer Receives ₦1 Million Scholarship

The highest-scoring candidate in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Daniella Owoeye Jesudunsin, has been awarded a ₦1 million scholarship in recognition of her exceptional academic achievement.

Owoeye announced the award on her Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the Ekiti Parapo Association in Indiana, USA, for sponsoring the scholarship. She also thanked her family, friends, and supporters for celebrating her success.

She described the occasion as a memorable experience and said she was deeply touched by the love and encouragement she received.

Owoeye extended special appreciation to the association for its generosity and support, as well as to the Obaleo of Erinmope-Ekiti, Oba Dr. Sunday Aikuirawo Aniyi Amoyimade Atayese I, the President of Ekiti Parapo, Hon. Awoniyi, her parents, and everyone who attended the celebration.

The 16-year-old, who hails from Erinmope-Ekiti in Ekiti State and sat the examination in Ogun State, emerged as the overall best candidate in the 2026 UTME with an impressive 372 out of 400.

Her subject scores were:

English Language: 98

Chemistry: 98

Physics: 94

Biology: 82

Owoeye plans to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos.

Speaking about her success, she credited her outstanding performance to early preparation, consistency, smart study techniques, regular practice with past questions, CBT applications, online tutorials, and study groups, rather than studying for long hours.

She concluded by thanking everyone who supported her and prayed for God's blessings upon them.
