At least 15 people have been killed in the latest wave of Russian and Ukrainian drone attacks, as the war between the two countries continues to escalate.
According to officials in Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia, 12 people, including five children, died after a drone strike hit a holiday camp in the resort town of Kyrylivka near the Sea of Azov. Nineteen others were injured. Russian authorities accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting civilians, although Kyiv has not commented on the incident.
In Ukraine's Sumy region, a Russian drone strike killed three employees of the courier company Nova Poshta after hitting one of its facilities. Ukrainian officials described the site as a civilian business, while Russia claimed it was being used to store and launch drones.
The attacks came shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that intelligence reports indicated Russia was preparing another large-scale assault.
Meanwhile, the White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to meet with President Zelenskyy in Washington on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing conflict.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also called for renewed peace negotiations, suggesting both sides should freeze hostilities and revive talks based on the earlier Istanbul framework.
Romania's military said it shot down a drone that violated its airspace near the Ukrainian border, marking another incident involving drones entering NATO territory.
Civilian casualties have risen sharply in recent weeks, with both Russia and Ukraine continuing to deny intentionally targeting civilians despite repeated deadly attacks.
