President Bola Tinubu will begin the commissioning of several key infrastructure projects across Abuja on Tuesday as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration, according to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Wike announced that the President's first assignment will be the inauguration of the completed second phase of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), a major road project designed to improve transportation within the Federal Capital Territory.
The commissioning programme will continue throughout the week, with the opening of Arterial Road N5 in Life Camp on Wednesday and the newly dualised Airport–Kuje Highway on Thursday. Wike stated that all the projects have been completed and are ready for public use.
He also revealed that President Tinubu will visit satellite towns within the FCT to commission additional development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and services in rural communities.
The minister praised contractors for meeting project deadlines and credited the achievements to President Tinubu's support and commitment to completing both ongoing and inherited projects.
On the delayed opening of newly completed bus terminals in Abuja, Wike explained that the facilities are awaiting the completion of a Public-Private Partnership concession process. He said the selected operator is currently assembling buses and taxis to ensure smooth operations before the terminals become fully functional.
