Iran’s caretaker defense minister says the country’s production of strategic missiles and drones continued throughout the recent conflict, with military industries increasing the speed and precision of manufacturing.
Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ebn al-Reza made the remarks during a meeting with representatives from East Azerbaijan province in Iran’s parliament.
He said Iran’s defense sector expanded its capabilities during what Iranian officials described as the “third imposed war,” using domestic technology companies to accelerate the development of military equipment.
According to the defense minister, Iran produced and upgraded strategic weapons systems during the conflict, allowing its armed forces to deploy new capabilities.
The remarks come as Tehran continues to discuss regional security arrangements following a ceasefire agreement with the United States. Iranian officials have said the country’s military capabilities were strengthened rather than weakened during the conflict.
The Iranian government has also stated that its defense industries remain focused on maintaining readiness amid ongoing regional tensions.
