Huawei has officially launched its Nova 16 series in China, introducing the flagship Nova 16 Ultra, a high-end smartphone featuring advanced imaging hardware, a large battery, and premium durability features.
The Nova 16 Ultra is powered by a 7,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging up to 7.5W. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
On the front, the device features a 6.84-inch LTPO OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and peak brightness reaching up to 6,000 nits. The screen is protected by Kunlun Glass, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button.
For photography, the phone includes a 200MP main rear camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide macro sensor. On the front, it houses a 50MP selfie camera alongside an additional spectral sensor.
The smartphone runs on Huawei’s Kirin 9010S chipset, the same processor used in previous flagship devices, and supports satellite messaging via China’s Beidou network. It also ships with HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box.
Design-wise, the Nova 16 Ultra features a vegan leather rear finish and a distinctive camera module housing multiple sensors and flash components. It comes in blue, white, and black colour options.
Pricing in China starts at approximately CNY 4,699 for the base model (256GB), while the highest 1TB variant costs around CNY 5,799. Sales are expected to begin from June 6.
The launch highlights Huawei’s continued push into premium smartphone hardware, focusing on large batteries, high-resolution cameras, and integrated satellite connectivity.
