FG, States, LGAs Share ₦2.3 Trillion May 2026 Revenue

The Federal, State, and Local Governments have shared a total of ₦2.3 trillion in revenue for the month of May 2026.

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disclosed that the funds were distributed during its June 2026 meeting held in Abuja.

According to the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, the total distributable revenue included ₦1.611 trillion from statutory revenue and ₦688.785 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT).

FAAC reported that the country generated a total gross revenue of ₦3.395 trillion in May 2026, while deductions for collection costs, transfers, and refunds amounted to ₦1.095 trillion.

The Federal Government received ₦818.680 billion, State Governments received ₦759.141 billion, while Local Government Councils got ₦534.277 billion.

A total of ₦188.132 billion, representing the 13 per cent derivation revenue from mineral resources, was shared among benefiting states.

The committee also revealed that gross statutory revenue increased to ₦2.651 trillion in May 2026, compared with ₦2.378 trillion recorded in April.

However, VAT revenue dropped from ₦806.617 billion in April to ₦743.668 billion in May 2026.
