Saudi Arabia has officially opened applications for Umrah visas for the new 1448 AH season, allowing international pilgrims to begin preparations for visits to the holy cities following the conclusion of the current Hajj pilgrimage.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that visa issuance and the arrival of overseas pilgrims commenced on May 31, 2026. The new Umrah season will continue until March 23, 2027, providing millions of Muslims worldwide with the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage.
Pilgrims seeking to undertake Umrah will be able to obtain permits and access services through the government’s Nusuk platform, which serves as Saudi Arabia’s unified digital gateway for pilgrimage-related bookings, permits and travel arrangements.
According to the ministry, March 9, 2027, will be the final date for issuing Umrah visas, while March 23, 2027, has been set as the last day for pilgrims to enter the Kingdom. All Umrah visitors must depart Saudi Arabia by April 7, 2027.
Saudi authorities have continued to expand digital services in recent years to improve the pilgrimage experience. Through the Nusuk platform, pilgrims can access electronic permits, streamlined booking systems and other online services designed to simplify travel and religious observances.
The Kingdom is also investing heavily in transportation, accommodation and infrastructure projects under its Vision 2030 programme, aimed at enhancing capacity and improving services for the growing number of pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques each year.
The announcement marks the beginning of preparations for another major Umrah season as Saudi Arabia continues efforts to modernise pilgrimage services and accommodate increasing numbers of worshippers from around the world.
