At least three people were killed in Israeli drone strikes targeting vehicles in southern Lebanon on Monday, according to Lebanese state media, while the Israeli military issued fresh evacuation warnings for several villages in the region.
The attacks reportedly struck areas near Nabatieh, including the Kafr Rumman-Jarmaq highway and the Jarmaq-Khardali road. Additional Israeli strikes were reported in multiple towns across southern Lebanon, causing damage to homes and infrastructure.
Shortly after the attacks, the Israeli army ordered residents in 10 southern Lebanese villages to leave their homes, claiming Hezbollah activities in the area violated the existing ceasefire agreement. Residents were instructed to move at least one kilometre away from the targeted locations.
Lebanese authorities said rescue teams were working in affected areas, including Tyre, where air raids reportedly destroyed residential buildings and injured civilians.
Despite a US-mediated ceasefire agreement that began in April, hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have continued, with frequent exchanges of fire and drone attacks reported along the border.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun reiterated that Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory remains a “non-negotiable” demand ahead of upcoming talks in Washington. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem also rejected direct negotiations with Israel and reaffirmed the group’s refusal to disarm.
The ongoing conflict has killed thousands in Lebanon since fighting resumed earlier this year, while tensions continue to rise across the region.
