At least five police officers and a 13-year-old boy were killed after an Israeli air strike targeted a police post in northern Gaza, according to Gaza police authorities.
The attack reportedly occurred in the at-Twam area near Gaza City on Saturday, with two missiles striking the police position. Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital said several other civilians were also injured during the incident.
Local officials said the officers died instantly, while at least 10 people sustained injuries in the surrounding area.
The latest strike comes despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement that officially halted the war in October 2025. However, Israeli military operations and air attacks have continued across parts of Gaza since then.
According to Gaza health authorities, more than 72,000 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began in October 2023, with hundreds reportedly killed after the ceasefire took effect.
Aid agencies and humanitarian organizations have also warned that repeated attacks on police and security structures are worsening instability in Gaza and making it harder to protect humanitarian aid deliveries from looting and disorder.
Meanwhile, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says children in Gaza are increasingly suffering from skin diseases and infections due to overcrowding, poor sanitation, and shortages of medicine and basic supplies.
