At least 20 civilians, including a member of Lebanon’s civil defense, were killed after Israeli airstrikes targeted several areas across southern Lebanon on Friday, according to Lebanese authorities.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said four people — including two women — were killed and eight others injured in an air raid on the town of Toura in the Tyre district. Rescue teams were reportedly continuing efforts to locate a girl trapped beneath the rubble.
Lebanon’s National News Agency also reported that two young men were found dead following an Israeli strike on the town of Blat in the Marjayoun district. Additional strikes were reported in Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, and other southern regions, with multiple casualties recorded.
Lebanon’s Civil Defense Directorate said one of its personnel was killed when an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle traveling between Kfarchuba and Kfarhamam in the Hasbaya district.
According to the Health Ministry, Israeli attacks across southern Lebanon killed around 50 people within the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military issued evacuation warnings to residents in several southern Lebanese towns, including Nmairiyeh, Tayr Felsay, Hallousiyyeh, Toura, and Maarakeh.
The Israeli army also reported that two of its soldiers were wounded, one seriously, after a drone launched from Lebanon struck northern Israeli territory.
Hezbollah said it carried out multiple operations targeting Israeli military positions and vehicles in southern Lebanon over the past day.
The violence comes despite an extended ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel announced following talks involving the administration of Donald Trump in April.
