Iran has reiterated that it will not accept any form of surrender in its dispute with the United States, with a senior official warning that the country remains fully prepared for confrontation if necessary.
Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran views recent US statements about pausing military action for diplomatic engagement as contradictory, arguing that Washington continues to issue threats while claiming openness to talks.
He stressed that Iran remains united and ready to respond to any military aggression, stating that “surrender has no meaning” for the country and framing the situation as one of resistance rather than compromise.
The remarks came in response to comments attributed to US President Donald Trump suggesting a temporary halt to attacks on Iran to allow room for negotiations.
According to the Iranian official, negotiations cannot succeed under pressure or threats, and must instead be based on mutual respect.
Tensions between Iran and the United States remain elevated, with ongoing disputes linked to regional security, sanctions, and maritime strategic routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit chokepoint.
