Iran on Thursday commemorated the second anniversary of the deaths of former President Ebrahim Raeisi and former Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who were killed in a helicopter crash in May 2024.
The memorial events, held across different parts of Iran, honored the two officials for what authorities described as their dedication to public service and national leadership.
State officials, political figures, and supporters attended the ceremonies, describing the occasion as a tribute to the legacy and contributions of the late president and foreign minister.
The anniversary comes two years after the helicopter carrying Raeisi, Amir-Abdollahian, and several other officials crashed in northwestern Iran during an official trip.
