Kaka Shehu Lawan, the senator representing Borno Central, has distributed ₦135.65 million to executives of the All Progressives Congress across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
According to a statement issued on Friday by his legislative aide, Usman Alkali, the cash support was shared on Thursday to assist party officials in preparing for the Sallah festivities.
Alkali explained that the gesture marks the third time the senator has extended such financial support since joining the National Assembly.
He said the donation was aimed at appreciating APC executives for their loyalty and contributions toward strengthening democratic values within the party structure in Borno Central.
The aide also noted that Senator Lawan recently stepped down from the Borno State governorship race after a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja. He subsequently endorsed rival candidate Mustapha Gubio, who is reportedly backed by Babagana Zulum, while retaining his Senate seat.
