Which animals are allowed for Qurbani?

In Islam, only specific livestock animals are allowed for Qurbani (Udhiyah). These are clearly defined in the Shariah.

You can only sacrifice the following:

1. Camel ๐Ÿช

2. Cow (including bull/ox) ๐Ÿ„

3. Goat ๐Ÿ

4. Sheep (including ram/lamb) ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ‘‰ These are known as Bahimatul An‘am (grazing livestock).

Animals NOT allowed
The following animals are not valid for Qurbani:

Chicken, duck, turkey ๐Ÿ”

Fish ๐ŸŸ

Deer, antelope ๐ŸฆŒ

Horse ๐ŸŽ

Wild animals (lion, etc.)

๐Ÿ“Œ Important Note
Qurbani is only valid with the animals mentioned above.

This is based on the practice of the Prophet ๏ทบ and Islamic teachings.

Great—let’s go deeper into it.

๐Ÿ Best Animal for Qurbani.

The best Qurbani animal is the one that is:

Healthy and free from defects

Well-fed and has more meat

Most valuable (within your ability)

 In general:
A ram/sheep is often preferred for individuals (this was the practice of the Prophet ๏ทบ).

A cow or camel is better when shared among multiple people (up to 7).

The animal must reach the minimum age:

Camel → 5 years

Cow → 2 years

The animal must be free from major defects.

Not allowed if the animal is:
