Importance of Marriage in Islam (with Hadith)
Marriage (Nikāh) in Islam is regarded as one of the most important institutions in human life. It is not only a social arrangement but also a religious act of worship, a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, and a means of protecting faith, morality, and society. Islam strongly encourages marriage because it fulfills natural human needs in a lawful and dignified way.
1. Marriage is a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
Marriage is part of the way of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and Muslims are encouraged to follow his example in all aspects of life.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
> “Marriage is part of my Sunnah, and whoever does not follow my Sunnah has nothing to do with me.”

2. Marriage completes half of faith.

> “When a person marries, he has completed half of his religion; so let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half.”

Responsibility toward spouse and children
