Dua at the end of khutbah in Arabic

At the end of the Friday Khutbah (Jummah sermon), it is Sunnah to make dua (supplication) for the Prophet ﷺ, the believers, and the community. A commonly recited dua in Arabic is:

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، الأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالأَمْوَاتِ.

Transliteration:

> Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima, wa barik ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad, kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima, fil-‘alameen, innaka Hamidun Majid.

Allahumma ighfir lil-muslimeena wal-muslimaati, wal-mu’mineena wal-mu’minaati, al-ahyaai minhum wal-amwaat.

Meaning:

> “O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.

O Allah, forgive the Muslim men and women, the believing men and women, the living and the dead among them.”
