In Islam, marriage (Nikah) is a sacred agreement between a man and a woman that must follow certain basic conditions to be valid. These conditions ensure fairness, protection of rights, and seriousness in building a family.
1. Mutual Consent (Ijab wa Qabul).
Both the man and woman must freely agree to the marriage.

2. Wali (Guardian) for the Bride.
The bride must be represented by a guardian (wali), usually:
Father
Brother
Close male relative.
The wali ensures protection of her rights and interests.
3. Two Reliable Witnesses.
A marriage must be witnessed by:
At least two trustworthy adult Muslim witnesses.
This makes the marriage:
Public
Legal in Islamic law
Protected from denial or dispute
4. Mahr (Dowry).
The husband must give the wife a marriage gift (mahr):
Money, gold, property, or anything valuable
It belongs only to the wife
👉 It is a right, not a favor.
