The Federal Government has partnered with inDrive and other stakeholders in Nigeria’s transportation sector to promote safer driving practices and improve the safety of drivers and passengers.
The call for stronger collaboration was made during the third edition of the inDrive Safety Summit, held in Abuja under the theme “Transparency.”
Speaking at the event, inDrive Nigeria Country Manager, Timothy Oladimeji, said the ride-hailing platform was established to provide affordable and safe transportation services to passengers.
Oladimeji explained that the summit was organised to educate stakeholders and encourage discussions on safety and mobility, with the aim of developing practical solutions and achieving measurable improvements.
He stressed that ensuring safe transportation required the collective efforts of drivers, passengers, government agencies and other stakeholders across the mobility sector.
Also speaking, Adimaldo Silva, inDrive’s Driver Marketing Lead for Africa, the Middle East and Europe, highlighted several safety features the company has introduced to protect both drivers and passengers.
Representing the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the ministry’s Director, Mrs Jane Ojinta, said road connectivity and safety remained a shared responsibility.
She emphasised the need for active participation from government institutions, private transportation operators, drivers, passengers and other stakeholders to improve road safety across the country.
The summit provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation, promote responsible driving and enhance safety within Nigeria’s growing mobility sector.
